I found these Swine Flu public service announcements from 1976. I thought it was interesting that when doctors feared that an outbreak of the virus in the US could become a pandemic, they attempted to heighten fears of the disease to increase the vaccinations.
The 1976 vaccination campaign is considered to have been an overreaction based on fears that the swine flu outbreak would pose the same risk as the Spanish flu pandemic that followed the First World War, which claimed the lives of up to 50 million people.
Many of the 40 millions Americans who signed up for vaccinations questioned the advice of the country’s health experts after the predicted pandemic never surfaced.
Apparently the folks over at Mattel thinks “Totally Styling Tattoo Barbie” is a good idea, but I really think they are pushing the envelope here. Do we really need to introduce our kids to this at such an early age? A tattoo gun to give our daughter a tattoo as well? Come on now, what happened to the good old Barbie I remember growing up? I don’t need to see Ken’s name on the small of her back. Check the commercial they will be running below!
The Allegiance of Heroes are now patrolling the streets of Cincinnati – beware!
So, I’m watching television last night, and this Cottonelle commercial comes on with the cutest lab puppy I have ever seen. My favorite scene: when the puppy ends up in the tub with all the purple flowers.

Here is the view from the inside:
The entire thing is made of one-way glass. So, nobody can see you from the outside, but you can see everyone from the inside. Would you use this public toilet? Just figured I would ask.
If you’re a technology person or just interested in penguins, these bionic penguins are really something you need to see.
Want to Know What Trouble Your Pet is Getting Into, All The Time? Pet Camera!
I was always curious what my dog was doing while I was at work or when I’m not around. With this lightweight pet’s eye view camera, you can set it to take up to 40 pictures at certain intervals. It attaches to your dog’s (or cat’s) nylon or flat-belt collar for a full-view of your pet’s world. Plug the included USB cable into your computer, and you can download all the photos taken that day. Now your dog or cat is the photographer! It also includes a rechargeable Li-Ion 100mAh battery for the camera.
It’s called the Uncle Milton 1538 Pet’s Eye View Digital Camera.
Now, I understand that we all look forward to some good, fried chicken every now and then. I know that specials, like the one Popeye’s advertised (8 pieces for $4.99) is a great deal. However, the reactions from these customers when they found out that this particular Popeyes was sold out of chicken is just unbelievable. It was as if they were planning for this chicken for years. You just have to see this:
